About Us

Why do we worship?

Our Story

Established: 1916

Windermere Union Church is a UCC Church located in the Central Florida town of Windermere.  We endeavor to honor God through worship and service. We believe that we are called to love one another as God loves us and welcome all people, regardless of where they may be on their faith journey. We invite you to experience our hospitality firsthand by joining us for Sunday morning worship or any other church event. A very warm welcome awaits you.

At Windermere Union Church, you will find that we take our heritage and our faith very seriously. We may not always agree in every detail, but we are united in striving to be a faithful community where all are accepted and respected. All ages, from children through seniors, are encouraged to grow spiritually and make the faith their own. Our members put their faith into action by playing a vital role in our community. We extend our outreach through active participating in our national denomination, the United Church of Christ (UCC), and in the statement Florida conference of the UCC.

You can learn more about us on this website, but it's the personal touch that counts. We're waiting to extend our hospitality, so come, experience our extravagant welcome for yourself!

Is Windermere Union Church Open and Affirming of LGBTQ+?

In practice, Windermere Union Church is Open and Affirming with beloved and active LGBTQ+ members. Formally, we have not yet received the designation, but we are in the process! We surveyed our membership and found that our congregation is wildly in favor of becoming O&A and we have a committee moving the process forward. We hope to update this page soon with an announcement that we are officially O&A.
